  • Supervisors approve grant to help combat crimes against farms

    EL CENTRO — The Imperial County Board of Supervisors Tuesday morning awarded the Imperial County Sheriff’s Office a grant worth more than $130,000 for equipment to fight crimes targeting agriculture.

    The Imperial County Agricultural Benefit Committee recommend for the board to approve a grant application from the Imperial County Sheriff’s Office for $130,955.45 to purchase equipment that will assist the law enforcement agency’s ability to conduct agricultural-related criminal investigations and aid in crime prevention efforts.
