  • Solar development has slowed, but remains significant

    Growth in the renewable energy industry in Imperial County isn’t what it used to be, but two supervisors who were on the board since the boom years say it has contributed more than they hoped for or expected.

    It’s been a roughly decade since Imperial County hitched its wagon to renewable energy market in a big way, spurred largely by incentives created under American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
