EL CENTRO CHAMBER COMMITTEES
Committees are a big part of the El Centro Chambers programs and strategic planning. By actively participating in a committee, you can bring your talents to the table and help shape and plan Chamber programs and events. Committee participation is a great way for Members to network, promote their business and meet fellow Chamber Members.
We encourage you to join a committee, learn more about them, or simply attend a meeting to see what they're all about. Committee typically meet once a month and offer various opportunities for Chamber Members.

The Agribusiness Committee's purpose is to advance the relationship between farm and agriculture industry and community business leaders in El Centro and the surrounding region. *Ideal for members in the farm/agriculture industry and those interested in fostering and/or strengthening relations.*
Mission: To establish better agriculture/business relations, thus enhancing the image and economy of business in Imperial County. To recognize, promote and educate local businesses on the impact of agriculture on the El Cento area economy.
This committee strengthens Member relations by welcoming new Members and assisting all Members in utilizing their benefits. This committee assists with ribbon cuttings, mixers and logistics of signature and special events. *Ideal for members interested in networking and fostering and/or strengthening relations.*
Mission: To perform public relation functions for the Chamber and enhance membership retention.

Governmental Affairs Committee (GAC)
The Governmental Affairs Committee (GAC), representing business in government, reviews various request for project support and discusses other government issues affecting the business community of El Centro and surrounding region. *Ideal for members interested in civic government and local legislation.*
Mission: The mission of the Governmental Affairs Committee (GAC) is to provide basis for the El Centro, Brawley and Imperial Chambers of Commerce to act on local, state and federal issues impacting the regional business community so a favorable and profitable business climate is secured.

This committee works to retain and increase membership by assessing and accommodating the needs of members and strengthens member relations by assisting all members in utilizing their benefits. *Ideal for members interested in networking and fostering and/or strengthening relationships.*
Mission: To actively recruit and retain members by developing a plan of action to better disseminate information regarding the benefits and services offered through membership in the El Centro Chamber of Commerce.

Special Events Committee
These committees assist in planning the Chambers special and signature events. The Chamber has four large events each year that act as major fundraisers. These events include: the Air Show Gala, Annual Dinner Meeting, El Centro Christmas Parade and the Air Show Gala Fashion Show & Ladies Night. Ideas, planning and strategies are discussed and created at these meetings. Each events subcommittee meets monthly as needed based on dates selected by event chair. *Ideal for event planners, creating thinkers and members interested in social events.*
Mission: To continue to offer events that encourage membership involvement and promote goodwill between the Chamber, its members and the general public.
